I spoke to a friend who was at the Aldershot - Torquay game on Saturday and Aldershot played well and Torquay were not up to their usual standard at all. He said to expect a much improved performance from Torquay. That suggests that our next couple of games will be tough unless we step up.

Actually fancy us to get something from this, going for a 2-1 win.

Tbf though after what I've seen so far under GW I'm probably more interested in seeing an improvement in our standard of football and style of play than the result.

2 teams going through similar patchy form at the moment. Very Important we get the upper hand early.

Could be a season changing result for the victor (if there is one).

Missing this one unfortunately.

My first game for a month, just hope we play the ball on the deck and pass the ruddy thing to feet.
After the poor games in october, pass it in stride and things normally open up going forward.
Just want them to play the game, there more than able to play, nothing more, nothing less.
Win, lose, or draw, passion needs to be see on the pitch.

Passion is not the issue its the team selections, substitutions and tactics that are the problem. Byrne will be back thats for sure but who will he replace?

I am afraid that the way we are currently playing says to me everything is an issue whether it be passion, tactics, team selection, you name it. The whole place seems to lack any sort of positivity - there is just no buzz but this could all change with just one performance which would lift everyone's spirits and which would give us something to go forward with.

I walk through the turnstiles at 2.00pm with positive thoughts but all too often by 3.45pm I realise I have been overwhelmed by negative waves of tsunami proportions.

Pershore I get what you mean about passion. I havent noticed a lack of effort from the players though. Cant fault them on that front. I think they have always been asked in the past to play football in the right way ie pass the ball but now these tactics seem to have gone out of the window and it seems that they are being asked to just hoof the ball forward as soon as they get it. They all look completely lost and probably fed up by it all.

I think you are absolutely right Tamworth and if they aren't fed up by it all I certainly am.

I will never forget a comment once made to me by Johnny Mullins when he first joined us - he was told that he was not to cross the half way line but if he received the ball as the then right full back he was to play it down into the opposition corner and one of the strikers would collect the ball.

Whatever happened to good old simple man management, such as, "go out an enjoy yourselves and express yourselves in the game". Simple enough to me? The players would love that (guessing).

Whatever happened to good old simple man management,
I always think " Okay lads, go out and try and score more goals than the opposition " is management in a nutshell!!!
