Mark Cooper was on Talk Sport earlier. Afterwards the presenters were treating us to an FGR love in. Apparently their success is down to nurturing youth lol. Nothing at all to do with green subsidies and tax avoidance.

Report from the Gumps site:
Christian Doidge's 64th minute penalty was the difference in a tight game between between Forest Green and National League North side Kidderminster.

Kidderminster dominated the early stages creating a number of chances. The Harrier's number 9 climbed highest in the Forest Green box but he couldn't keep his header down. Chelsea loanee Brad Collins was then called into action to deny Kidderminster with two saves in quick succession. First he spread himself to deny the Harriers striker from close range after a defense splitting pass before being called into action soon after to produce a simple save from a header.

10 minutes in, Forest Green created their first opportunity but nobody could apply the finishing touch to Scott Laird's inviting cross.

As Kidderminster continued to press, Dale Bennett was forced into making an excellent last ditch tackle in the Rover's box.

Mid-way through the opening 45 minuted, Rovers started to create more chances. Christian Doidge squandered a golden opportunity to break the deadlock as he rolled his effort wide from six yards following Luke James cross-cum-shot. The Welshman could have scored moments later, but this time his spectacular overhead kick flew over the bar.

With no changes for Rovers at the break they started brightly creating the first chance of the second period. A great ball in from the right by Callum Evans was met by the head of Doidge but he sent his effort wide. Luke James then fired low from the edge of the box but he couldn't beat the Kidderminster keeper from 14 yards out.

Finally, just after the hour mark, the deadlock was broken. Christian Doidge was fouled in the box, with the resulting penalty never in doubt as he fired low into the bottom right hand corner.

Harriers began to press for an equaliser and Dale Bennett was forced into a goal-saving tackle yards from the goal to deny the away side.

Substitute goalkeeper Sam Russell was forced into action minutes after stepping onto the pitch to producing a smart save at his near post. From the resulting corner, Jack Fitzwalter cleared an in swinging corner off the line in what turned out to me Harriers' last chance of the game.

Keanu Marsh-Brown found himself with a chance just minutes after coming on from the bench. He turned his man on the edge of the box but his driving run and shot was comfortably saved by the Harriers keeper.

Sounds an encouraging display based on that report.

Did anyone go?

Seems like we'll be playing Austin at RB for the start of the season.

Which also means Nti and Sanoupe will be playing the wings in a 4-1-4-1 again like last year.
