I read somewhere that he had helped two previous clubs win "family club" of the year awards, so cant be all bad. Anyway, he isnt the chairman, and there are plenty of good people at Kiddy these days, maybe he was just a victim of working with a lot of disreputable people in previous clubs, which can give genuine people a bad name for no reason.

Lets give him a fair chance

There are some pretty specific allegations from the Wrexham fans- who I've always found to be a decent bunch. It would be wrong not to give the guy a chance, but I hope Serrell has a strong 'performance management plan' in place. He's done too much to save the club.

The following e mail to harris from the WST CEO tells you everything you need to know about harris.

The backdrop of this is the WST takeover of the club which was being obstructed by harris who would have been out of a job the day after the buy out was completed.

harris came to the club as part of a front team for scouse criminal Steven Vaughan (see chester city). When that bid collapsed he then fronted a bid for banned company director colin poole. poole is also a struck off solicitor.

As you can see from the e mail - harris specialises in lies and evasion.

The contract referred to is between Greene King brewery and Wrexham AFC. It was an attempt by the owners to foist their own obligations on to the football club. Harris was a small time player in this charade although his exit from the northop Hall cricket club is worth exploring as it related to money going missing.
Avoid.

Good Morning Jon.

In addition to the matter of the player budget, I just wanted to run past you my understanding of the above and the summary of our progress on questions I raised yesterday. Please let me know if I have misunderstood anything in making these observations and requests.

Exec Boxes:
These have not been well occupied with just three being used in the two home matches to date. Only one has been invoiced.
This appears inconsistent with the previous information we have received that 7 or more were sold. Could you give a quick confirmation of sales and invoices and commitments

Match Sponsorship: The first game was b2b and ex players were present last night. Are these, and all allocated sponsors that you have identified, invoiced in advance.? How may match day sponsors are paying and at what rate?

Free Access: As you know I have asked for this information and only been told about the facilities for Gold Bond Agents, Can you confirm what free access and what free tickets are allocated. I fully understand and accept the value and appropriateness of free access to those like ~~~~~~~~~~ et al who assist as match day hosts but i am prompted to ask about the wider issue of free access so that the Trust is aware of the extent of current obligations.

~~~~~~~~~~: We discussed yesterday. I understand your observation that this was entered into before the University entered the scene, but that was in June and I am advised that the contract was only signed in the last month. Can you confirm and supply a copy of the signed and dated ~~~~~~~~~contract so that we can avoid any ambiguity with this. I am working on the basis that you have made no assessment of the potential financial impact of this contract. We will need to see a signed copy that we have not had to date.
I understand your contact at ~~~~~~~~is ~~~~~~~~~. Do you know who he reports to in~~~~~~~~~?
PLEASE Note, I have attached a composite of the queries raised with you yesterday, your email response and my note of the discussion we had yesterday.
Richard
Thanks for the post Tommy, but to make complete sense of it we need more of the context in which it was written- can you expand a bit more ? (without libelling anyone of course) :wink:
Hi folks, hope all's good.
jon Harris' name popped up a couple of times in a Macc Town fans forum with our directors about the enormous changes taking place at MTFC. Might be interesting for you.
So tell us exactly why Harris left? Macclesfield just as this new community deal was finalised.
Was it because he was too expensive. Too risky. The council want their own man in? Or did they know something we don't?
This is all looking a bit dodgy, bearing in mind that Harriers have had a recent brush with administration - the last thing this club needs now is another 'Builder type' fixer.
Do think for all his good intentions and being thrilled at this individuals appointment as General manager I think there is more than enough baggage for Mark Serrell to have a rethink - the recent history is there for all of us to see - Wrexham & Macca.
Perhaps KHIST through contacts with previous clubs who have 'experience of the Harris effect' are the obvious starting point for a re-evaluation of the merits of this appointment, obvious question to ask was this a board of directors decision - or Mark Serrells own judgment??
The last thing Harriers want now, when the club would appear to be on the verge of a successful season is a distraction over the financial management.
IMO this appoinment needs a second look Mr Serrell.
Official quote from KHFC
Jon’s role with the Club will be extensive – in addition to assisting the Board of Directors with the day to day running of things at Aggborough he will also take charge of first-team administration not to mention the same duties for our Football Academy in partnership with Stourbridge College which only continues to flourish.
Just hope he doesn't upset the gaffer !!
One of the foreign owners, referred to simply as 'Amar' by Andy Scott at the Fans Forum, was insistent on the interviewing, and subsequent hiring of Steve King. From Silkmen Supporters Trust FB(AS=Andy Scott, Amar=foreign owner): "AS says he is going to get a few things off his chest. Says when he left the club was in very good nick. He had Steve Burr ready to come in but Amar said he had one more candidate to interview. Amar insisted he wanted to go with Steve King. He stuck with decision after an hour of AS begging him to reconsider. Andy then felt he had to resign. "
Mmmmmmmmmmm
Steve Burr was ready to jump ship according to that - just like lots of 'talk' - it's the final end result that matters.
But thanks for the clarification - the Jon Harris connection was just a coincidence then ?
I don't believe that for a second.
I vividly recall when SB was asked about the Macc job at the fans forum all he said, his body language, and the sincere conviction of the way he said it suggested to me very strongly that he was never going to take any post up with Macc or any other similar team.
So if we are to judge any of the allegations/ rumours around Jon Harris' previous dealings from the postings detailing the above stuff ( i.e. what we do know as rubbish) then all it does is cloud the issue even further.
