Player departures from other teams
FGR are the first to release players. Reece Styche amongst them.

Jason Walker's not a bad goalscorer is he?
The best team we ever had- since i've been watching the Harriers (2002-)

Re: Player departures from other teams
Always been impressed with Styce whenever I've seen him play, not sure whether he is slightly injury prone and I doubt Harriers could afford him - but he would be the type to play alongside Gashy IMO.

Not sure this should be here but I see that Neil Howarth is leaving Cheltenham as Mark Yates signs another 12 month contract.
Wonder if they have fell out or is Neil becoming the scapegoat for Cheltenham's poor season

I see a couple of weeks ago their Chairman said that next season would be Mark Yares's last as they need a change.Phil wrote:Cost cutting. Didn't realise they had cash problems as well, wonder if they have ant decent players to offload although roumers are that Lee Vaughan might be going there, sure he would be better off here

Of course he would be he's not getting any younger and it's league football.
I do read the chelt forum occasionally and I am baffled by some of them. Their gates are not that good, yet some think they should be in league one chasing a play off spot!

Re: Player departures from other teams
Yates is something like the third longest serving Manager in the 4 top tiers now?
Hes done pretty well at Chelts; two play-off campaigns and that after the disaster that was Martin Allen!
If the Chelts Chairman thinks he's going to luck into a better Manager than hes already got, best of luck to him.

Re: Player departures from other teams
You're never at the top forever. Cheltenham were a non-league club for most their history (like us) and have had a fantastic twenty years. But fans get greedy, being in a certain league becomes the norm, mid-table becomes unacceptable and the manager and chairman are then harangued out. Like Macc and Torquay surely its a matter of time before the Robins come back down?
