We are rumoured to be signing Jared Hodgkiss (ex FGR) according to their forum. One of the better full backs on display last season if I remember correctly.

I've mentioned his name a couple of times saying hes the perfect replacement and the fact he is still a free agent is why I'm not panicking like everyone else! There are plenty of players still to come available later on as well but he is the best fit player for us IMO!!

As mentioned, looks promising for Bell to come back next term:

If he comes on loan and Whild sees him as our first choice left back, then can we stipulate that Birmingham cannot recall him? It would leave us with a bit of a problem if they wanted him back in the middle of the season.

As the article in the W***ster News states Blues have both Grounds and Murphy covering LB, so for Bell to be recalled ( and deemed good enough for the Championship) would be unlikely. If he comes on loan and Whild sees him as our first choice left back, then can we stipulate that Birmingham cannot recall him? Re: Player departures from other teams
Interesting that he's (Bell) being championed as the new L/B - I've not seen him play there, but I did like him left side midfield going forward - however I guess GW has a full compliment of midfielders
Then again maybe the best of both world's would be for him to play as a wing back..........................................
Nah thought not .
I'm still trying to work out how GW is going to accommodate Styche, Gash, Reid, & Malbon - not to mention Blissett & Freddie!!!
Think we might be a little top heavy there.

After watching Bell play last season, including away at Salisbury, I would say he looks a far better fullbck than midfielder. Was excellent at Salisbury.

Pretty sure the majority of his time at Nuneaton was at full-back wasn't it?

Yes, Bell looked good at Salisbury and played left-back most of the time at Nuneaton. Sounds a good option for us but if I were Lee Clark, I would probably rather he stepped up to League Two on loan perhaps. But it may be we are the best alternative.

Would that be as a replacement for Lee Gregory ?garthrockett wrote:'Goal scoring machine'* Richard Peniket gone to Halifax from relgated Tamworth.

Halifax might struggle this season.

Andy Mangan heavily touted as Halifax's Lee Gregory replacement.

Same comment applies .......................Mangan or Peniket no where near in the same class .

Always said this was the one Hereford player we should have snapped up before they went bump.

The underwhelming Jack Dyer has gone to Nuneaton on a 2 year deal.
