League news/Former Harriers 1

I've put all the more interesting old threads in here so they can still be seen following the board overhaul in October 2008. It'll be read only.

I watched Faal for a few games of his Telford spell and he looked poor - when I was getting rave reviews of him against Harriers I was surprised.

Colour me even more shocked when he started banging them in for Fylde...

Until I was at Fylde v Telford. Given how we like to launch it, I'm not sure if he'd have been the success he has been with Fylde

Just thinking about our firepower and thought I'd see how Omari Sterling James was doing at Ebbsfleet. 28 league and cup starts. 5 subs appearances. 8 yellow cards. 0 goals.

His teammates probably don't pass to him, likely he doesn't pass to them.

I watched Ebbsfleet vs Havant a few weeks back when I was down in Gravesend with the better half.

They like him down there. Sure, the numbers don't make for pretty reading but I've honestly never seen football played at this level like Kutrieb has Ebbsfleet playing. Let's just say, it makes Eustace/Gordon ball look like Alfreton.

Most of their goals come from Poleon and Bingham. OSJ and Cundle (formerly a striker) tend to operate as wing backs or wide midfielders. The focus for them is more working the ball into the box as opposed to crossing. OSJ was good against HW, had his full back on toast all game. Pretty sure he won the penalty as well from memory

Just as much the fans who hounded him during his brief spell here. This board was full of posts saying how awful he was/shouldn't be near the team/etc. Yet look at him now.

Amazing how some players have remarkably different fortunes at different clubs. A player like Ceesay whose game is based on lightning pace (and perhaps not enough else) was cast out by us but thriving at a more unfashionable and very direct side that are making a much better job at chasing the playoffs than us.

I'm not saying he was the answer, but it's another sad indictment on our season 😔

Thought he had a rough deal here, fed on scraps from a mis firing midfield, nothing much has changed.

This is the lad who came on for Banbury late on then scored a few minutes later:

Super Sammy Austin and Baj both on BT now in action for Notts County.

Austin has 10 assists already this season for County, how we could do with some of those!
