Player of the Season 2009-10 - Brian Smikle
So who did people vote for?
Must say the organisation of the East Stand voting was poor. A steward standing there with 3 pens and a box, but no paper! People were ripping out vouchers in their season ticket books and writing on them. Paying customers seemingly had nothing to write on!
I propose the club do a text vote next year - Cant be hard to set up and the club would get a share of the costs.

Same. Only knew the vote was that day when my mate told me and said he'd voted for Knights.mezzaKHFC wrote:I completely forgot i must say, but as i walked in the ground i didn't see no one with pens and paper.. Maybe i was just in a world of my own.
My bad.
I would've voted for Baker, consistent all season and has been getting better progressively. The left flank is now one of our best attacking threats I feel now via him.
The best team we ever had- since i've been watching the Harriers (2002-)

True, we had this debate at the station. There is no getting past the points you've made though, I just think Baker has been more consistent and better...somehow.Morgan wrote:Can't see why anyone wouldn't vote for Brian Smikle.
He's played the most games, scored the most goals and got the most assists.

I voted for Courtney. Been pretty consistent all season, not spectacular but gives decent width to help the attack, fairly solid defender, not too many errors. There hasn't really been a consistent stand out player like Bartlett was last season, Smikle has done well with his goals and general contribution but has still been a bit up and down, other players like Baker have been consistent but he did miss a portion of the season (although not sure why as he is better than Danny Andrew), others have had spells of good form followed by dips so is a bit of a toss up between two or three of them.

Voted for Smikle but Ted a close second - agree with LK that as he missed a couple of months this deters a vote for him - and Mr 7/10 Duane Courtenay third.
The whole vote thing made me reflect on the whole season and the fact that we were always going to struggle to push for promotion when Smike is our stand-out player - I admire a lot about him but he is not brilliant and we need two or three players better than him to get out of the division.
Next season will be a different story - I hope
