Player of the Season 2014-15 - Jared Hodgkiss
Yes, we all know that it's been a shocking season by our standards but in amongst the dross there has to be a shining light somewhere.
Forget the management and the boardroom because it's the players that matter and now you can vote for your choice for the 2014-15 Player of the Season.
All of the MotM winners from the season are listed along with the amount of times they've won in brackets. I'll update those as each remaining game polls end. The only thing I can't do is add a completely new name to the poll.
The poll will run for 25 days, until midnight April 30th (or thereabouts)
Get voting and if you want to give a reason why you voted for your choice then please do.

Jared Hodgkiss for me. Consistent performer throughout the whole season, which for me is what 'Player of the Season' is about. Calm and intelligent- exactly what we need to support the younger players next season. Hope he stays; I fear he won't.

Can only be Marvin.
Don't care that he's an ex player....without him we would be scrapping at the bottom of the table.

How embarrassing if he wins it.DonutUK wrote:Can only be Marvin.

Oh he won't win it.......too many people will ignore the obivous and vote for a player that will be gone in a few weeks as opposed to one already gone......

Jared Hodgkiss for me, I was extremely doubtful about him at first, but in fairness to the player, he's proved me wrong, and I even think he's better than his predecessor.

I admire the way Jamie Grimes has battled for his place in the side and has given 100% throughout in the most difficult of circumstances. Honest, hard-working player. Dread to think where we would have been without him. I don't want to vote for any of the departed - only those who see this horrible season through to its conclusion.

Re: Player of the Season 2014-15
Marvin's goals have earned 7 points this season, without which we would be needing 4 points from the final four games to guarantee safety, and much likely less than that. Hardly a one man goal machine, although I admit to preferring that he had stayed. The reality is that most of the current squad will be off in the summer. Player of the season votes in seasons like this, much like motm votes after a four-nil defeat, have a somewhat empty ring about them. But it is only right to acknowledge those who have remained professional despite being treated in a pretty appalling manner by the club and in my view it would add insult to injury if the player of the season award went to a player only here for half the seaso, especially one who only truly bucked up his ideas when a move was on the cards.DonutUK wrote:The White Snowman wrote:How embarrassing if he wins it.DonutUK wrote:Can only be Marvin.

Marvin Johnson for me. I don't think we would be in this division next season without his performances earlier in the season!

He's done ok but is no Lee Vaughan.Hartleburyharrier wrote:Jared Hodgkiss for me, I was extremely doubtful about him at first, but in fairness to the player, he's proved me wrong, and I even think he's better than his predecessor.

Same as Lolley last year, our threat (if we had any) was all but gone once MJ left the club.
Easily my player of the season, especially given his turbulent past couple of years prior.

No, he's no Lee Vaughan, Vaughan was good going forward, but he couldn't defend.

Totally agree and that's why he gets my vote. I hope he stays for next season.

Marvin for me, at least whilst he was here we were sort of exciting to watch. Without his goals and contribution we could well be in the relegation fight.
