Dave’s JDRF Challenge (Update 4)

Post by Colgofray » Mon Mar 18, 2019 9:56 am

Well done Dave Pountney!
Dave completed the Gloucester 20 mile race (actually 19.9 miles) :D in a very creditable time of 2 hours 42 minutes and 43 seconds. He finished in 177th place in a field of 454 runners. On completing the race, Dave said that he had kept up a good marathon pace for 15 miles (8 mins/mile) but that he then had to slow down as his exertions had caused him to have a very sore knee.
Knowing Dave, he’ll be pounding the roads of Wyre Forest, after a short rest, preparing for the next leg of his Challenge, which will be the Manchester Marathon on 7th April.
Notwithstanding his extensive schedule, Dave has now added three events to his plans, which (after Manchester) will now include:-
22nd April – Massey Ferguson 10k
19th May – The Worcester Marathon
15th June – KAPOW Superhero Challenge Obstacle Course (with daughter Ellie)
21st-23rd June – The Three Peaks Challenge
24th August – The Blackpool Run the Lights 10K
21st-22nd September – The Equinox 24 Hour Race
13th October – The Birmingham Half Marathon
8th December – Telford 10k
