I know it's going off on a bit of a tangent, but Tommy Docherty's Man Utd team, were one of the most exciting teams I've ever seen, whereas Gordon Strachan's teams, well...........zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz !! Lol.

Re: Player departures from other teams
True but he did get them relegated in 73 and promoted the next year (as he did with Chelsea) , and when appointed Manager of Wolves in '84 in his biog he said he promised to the Chairman he'd get them out of the division.....and he succeeded , as they were relegated.I know it's going off on a bit of a tangent, but Tommy Docherty's Man Utd team, were one of the most exciting teams I've ever seen, whereas Gordon Strachan's teams, well...........zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz !! Mellon has the air of that type of manager; failure punctuated with a bit of success, but never quite convincing everyone its down to pure managerial talent.

I see Amar'ri Bell has been recalled by Blues. He hadn't featured in any of Mansfield's 3 games.

That's a bit harsh on the lad, I thought he was more than good enough for League 2.
Come on Gary, offer Lee Clark a deal,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,"You pay him and we'll play him" Simples
Would be a superb bit of 'management'

Yep
They were my tip for relegation pre season and it looks like they are already in deep do do, management no Conference experience - now where have we seen that before,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Southport might be another basket case destined for a very long season.
