Rhys Meynell

Chester City midfielder Rhys Meynell has been linked with a possible loan move to Blue Square Premier rivals Kidderminster Harriers.

Former Barnsley player Meynell was signed in the summer by former City boss Mick Wadsworth after spells with Gretna and AFC Telford United. However, his progress at The Deva Stadium has been hampered by a number of niggling injury problems.

New Harriers` boss Steve Burr is keen to bolster the play-off chasing squad he inherited when he took over the managerial hotseat at Aggborough last month, and indicated that the ex-Stalybridge Celtic manager would make a move for Meynell when the loan transfer window re-opens next week.

City’s hierarchy will be preparing for Wednesday`s meeting with the Football League, with a representative of the Football Conference also expected to attend.

The authorities are thought to be looking for further information from the club about the current financial state of the club.

Chester survived a winding up petition in the High Court last week by HM Revenue & Customs, but they must return on March 10 to detail how they are going to pay arrears of £26,000.

Maybe, But if we get Rhys, he can play at the back.

I've been told by a non league manager that "he is poor", so not getting excited till we see whether this is true

It's all about opinions.

I was speaking to a non-league manager the other day and he said some not so complimentary things about Steve Burr.
I'm sure others would have nothing but nice things to say.
It depends on who you speak to I guess.
