  • Foster to appeal

The club are to appeal against Ian Foster's sending off on Tuesday night against Chesterfield.
They may also make an official complaint against Chesterfield's boss, Brian Laws for his part in the incident.

It all started just before the sending off when Foster was fouled by the Chesterfield defender, Martyn Booty. Minutes later Booty was on the ground with the ball trapped between his legs and would not release it.

    This is against FA rules.

Fozzie is said to have tried to retrieve it but then he found himself being attacked by half of the Chesterfield players.

The referee said that he had kicked Booty and red carded him.

At this stage Laws joined in and grabbed Fozzie, allegedly, by his mouth and pulling him backwards towards the tunnel.

The referee booked Booty and Ebdon of Chesterfield for their part in the incident.
According to other witnesses he then appeared to lose control of the game.

After the match Jan and others said that Fozzie did not kick Booty at all and the referee had got his facts wrong.

We should hear sometime next week what the FA decision will be.

    Don't hold your breath!
