This has come to an end now, just as interest in it has started again due to Dave Reynolds becoming a shareholder at Cheltenham.

Although the poll went on for longer than I would have liked it was still quite active right up till the end.

It was a close thing with 67 votes for leaving it as is and 45 votes for renaming it the Ray Mercer Stand.

The rest of the votes mainly went to The Molby Stand (21) and The Newton Stand (16).

Personally, I think it's about time that the club recognised the role Ray Mercer played in the history of this club and honoured his memory in a fitting way by renaming the stand or by naming the new stand after him.

The new poll is a nice easy neutral one.
