Ex Harrier John Durnin has signed for Potteries side Port Vale on a non-contract basis.

John left the Reds towards the end of last season and has been turning out for Welsh League side Rhyl this season.

Brian Horton, manager at Port Vale, said that he has signed him in an effort to put a stop to their poor season:
"We've signed John because he is an experienced player to have on the pitch and in the dressing room.

We have a very young side here but I knew John from my days at Oxford and hopefully he can help us out."

In Durnin's time at Aggborough he scored nine goals in 34 appearances.
