Reds go into final of WSC

A team mix of mainly youngsters and first teamers were taken to extra time by a hard working Solihull side in the Worcester Senior Cup last night.

Shilton, Doyle and Ducros were the first team players along with an appearance of on trial Michael Keegan from Swansea.

The first half was fought out in midfield with the odd break on goal from both sides.

It was the ex Harrier keeper, Brendan Murphy's, mistake that let the Harriers in for the first goal.
He managed to get a hand to Faulds shot but then allowed it to run under his body and into the net.

John Danby in the Harriers goal produced a fine save from Derek Hall and then later Murphy regained a bit of pride when he saved well from Corbett and then from Faulds follow up.

The second half started with plenty of pressure from us but in a quick breakaway Solihull equalised when substitute Simon Hollis sent a powerful shot past Danby.

Solihull then applied a bit more pressure in an effort to get the winner but could not make the break through they wanted.

The end of ninety minutes came and with it extra time.

It was Matt Lewis who settled matters for us when he picked up a good cross from Daire Doyle and sent his shot past Murphy.

For the Harriers Matt Lewis looked our most dangerous forward and Keegan impressed in midfield.

Borough made us work hard for the win but in the end it was the fitness levels that decided the outcome.

We now go on to meet Moor Green in the two legged final.

Harriers:
Danby, Davies, Shilton, Keegan, Khela, Ayres, Faulds, Lewis, Corbett, Ducros, Doyle, Downs, Lowar, Langford, Pringle, Heath.
