  • happy birthday jan,
i'm another dirty double crossing rat
  • Neil Mackenzie dropped the biggest bombshell so far when he told Jan Molby that he was off to play for Blackpool.

It was only last Thursday that he agreed to sign a contract to keep him at Aggborough for another year.
And after keeping the club hanging around for so long he then changed his mind and said that he was going to sign for a club with a future.

"I'm joining Blackpool because they can give me the opportunity to play at a higher level and they are a bigger club than Kidderminster.
I played against Blackpool last season and know how good the team is and that was proved by their promotion."

The contract he has signed for Blackpool is also for one year only.

Mackenzie joined the Harriers in November 2000 after being released from his contract at Cambridge United after an alleged drunken attack on an Indian taxi driver.

The case was eventually thrown out.

Jan Molby was the only person prepared to give him a second chance and this is how he repays him.

This is the second time Jan has been let down.
Earlier this week Steve Jones, who he signed from Swansea City, also changed his mind and has now gone to Cheltenham.

The rumour is that he asked for a job there but Cheltenhams manager, Steve Cotterill, didn't want him at first but agreed to take him on at the same pay that the Harriers were going to pay him.

Also earlier today Jan tried to sign Carl Hutchings from Southend Utd but he was due to sign a new contract before the end of the week to keep him at Southend for another year.

Mind you I wasn't that impressed with him when we beat Southend 2-1 at Aggborough last February.
It was his shocking clearance that let in Ian Bogie to score the equaliser from twenty yards out before Stewart Hadley went on to grab the winner in the last minute.

After all these upsets in the past few days may be the club should keep all transfer dealings secret until they have been finalised.
It seems to be pressure from the fans on the official website messageboard wanting some news that has made the club rush into these rash announcments.

    Keep it quiet Jan.
