  • Macc chief resigns after defeat

Gil Prescott, the Macclesfield manager, has today announced his decision to stand down from his managerial role at the club and to move upstairs as Director of football.

This was a move obviously bought about by yesterdays embarrassing defeat (for them) at the hands of the Reds.

At the end of the game, that we won 1-0, his team, Macclesfield, went off to a chorus of boo's from the sprinkling of Macc supporters that stayed till the end.

An official announcement from the club said that they will not rushing into the appointment of a replacement just yet but there is already talk of Nigel Clough (Burton), John Aldridge, Kevin Keen and John Askey (both Macc) as being the fan's choice.
Strange there was no mention of Jan Molby!

At least he won't be going to Wrexham because they've just appointed the ex Albion gaffer, Denis Smith, as their new manager.

Now where can the press say Jan is going to next?
