  • Harriers take Appleby on loan

News has been released from Swansea City that the Harriers have taken 26yr old Richie Appleby on a months loan with a view to a permanent transfer.

This is in addition to another Swansea midfielder, Michael Keegan, being given permission by the Swans manager Colin Addison to stay at Aggborough for another weeks trial.

Jan had hoped to sign Keegan in time for this weekends game at Orient but the deal would not have been completed on time due to hold ups at the Welsh FA headquarters.

Keegan is registered with the Welsh FA but Appleby is registered with the English FA and the forms can be processed much more quickly.

This will enable Appleby to be available for this weekend, although he will probably not play.

Jan signed Appleby from Ipswich Town 5 years ago when he was manager at Swansea but in his time there he has suffered from injuries and this has restricted his appearances in recent years.
