doncaster rovers (away) ko 7:45pm
ldv trophy 1st rd nth
This is one of those games that all league clubs fear, the minnow up against the giant.
Which is which I hear you say. Five years ago it would have been the Harriers as the minnows and Doncaster as the giants.
Times change.
Even though we may now be on the ascendancy we could be facing a banana skin tomorrow.
The Rovers are going well in the Conference and are sitting well placed in 6th position, whereas we are struggling down in 19th.
They picked up a useful point at third placed, Margate, on Saturday with a goal from their new signing Justin Jackson.
Legendary failure Jackson was signed from R & D a few weeks back for the un-believable sum of £100,000 and that was his first goal for his new club.
Other faces at Belle Vue that we may know of include ex Halifax striker Jamie Paterson and Francis Tierney who Jan tried to sign when we first entered the League.
Tierney never signed because he wanted to play for a bigger club and ended up in footballs wasteland without a club all season.
He now plies his trade in the Conference, lol.
Lucky for him he won't be playing tomorrow because he has tendonitis.
Others missing for the Rovers are Marples, Gill, Sandwith, Sale, Watson and McIntyre.
Doncaster (from):
Richardson, Hawkins, Miller, Kelly, Squires, Ryan, Caudwell, Owen, Campbell, Whitman, Paterson, Warrington, Barrick, Barnes, Carden, Jackson, Fell, Green, Price.
As for the Harriers the game should see the return of Mark Blake after his one match ban.
There didn't look to be any injuries at the end of Saturdays game so I think that Tony Bird will be dropped to the bench with Dean Bennett moving to one side for Blakie.
Eric Nixon will be in goal again while Stuart Brock see's out his three match ban.
And Colin Larkin will continue to partner Broughton up front now that his loan spell has been extended.
Harriers (from):
Nixon, Murphy, Joy, Stamps, Medou-Otye, Clarkson, Sall, Hinton, Smith, Blake, Williams, Shail, Bird, Davies, Bennett, Shilton, Doyle, Foster, Hadley, Broughton, Larkin, Ducros, Corbett.
