  • Hartlepool (home ko 3:00pm)

Danny Williams is expected to make his return for tomorrows visit of Hartlepool Utd, another of our play-off rivals.

Danny has been out for a few weeks now with a leg injury that required stitches, these have now been taken out and he has declared himself fit to play again.

The use of Bo Henriksen in midfield on Tuesday evening was only a stop gap measure, even though it was an inspired move by Jan, but I can't see Danny sitting on the bench spectating.

The only other problem that I saw against Shrewsbury was that Dean Bennett appeared to be having a bit of trouble with the bang on his leg that he got at Plymouth. It didn't help being clattered early on by a Shrewsbury defender.

After that he seemed to be in a bit of pain once he had finished a run. With a bit of luck it should be Ok for tomorrow.

Of the others on the sick list then Richie Appleby is still some way off with his hamstring and as for Andy Ducros and this mysterious ankle injury we know nothing.

This happened at Scunthorpe six weeks ago, it seems a long time clearing up.

As for Hartlepool they had Tommy Widdrington (good Northern name that) taken off at Scunthorpe in January too. That was for a hamstring injury and he's out for the rest of the season.

The Hartlepool manager, Chris Turner, hopes to have leading scorer Gordon Watson back in the team for this game after having had keyhole knee surgery almost a fortnight ago.
He was due to play in the 3-0 defeat at Cheltenham on Tuesday night but didn't make it.

Hartlepool are one place and one point above us and have played one more game than we have.
With the three points off them and hopefully Cheltenham beating Rushden (did I just say that) tomorrow then we could go above Hartlepool and tuck in one point behind Rushden and get back on track for the play-offs.
