Vs macclesfield

An abysmal, lacklustre, un-interested, dire shambles.

I make no excuses for the tone of this report and neither should anyone else.

It's no use saying that injuries were to blame because the ones that played tonight are ALL first teamers and should ALL be capable of playing at this level.

Ok, in the first 20 minutes we found so much space down the left it looked like a goal glut was on it's way.
Stampsie was making use of the space, Appleby was probing the Macc defence and shots were raining in from all angles.

Then Richie went off with what looked like an aggravation of his hamstring injury.

Daire Doyle came on for him, he seems to have beefed up a bit during his absence and seemed better for it, but he's no Appleby.

After that we gave up and allowed Macclesfield back into it and we never got a sniff for the rest of the night.

Larkin was anonymous most of the night, Deano was terrified of taking on anyone and as for Broughton??

He showed some nice touches in the first half, laying the ball off and running into space. When it came to showing a bit of strength and nous in front of goal he may as well have gone home.

Sorry Drewe, on that showing, forget it.

HT. 0-0

In the second half they scored through Chris Byrne and we didn't stretch the keeper at all.

They didn't stretch themselves either.

FT. 0-1
