Mark Blake retires

The Harriers former captain, Mark Blake, has announced his retirement from the game after finally admitting defeat in his quest to come back from a serious injury.

He suffered an Achilles tendon injury in the home game against Carlisle last season and had been out of the team for the past 10 months.  He had hoped to make his return in October but although the injury seemed better it would not have stood up to the rigours of the football pitch.

In his time with the Harriers he scored 4 goals in 27 appearances and was a very influential captain on the rest of the side.

He hopes now to go into coaching and eventually higher things within the game.

Harriers-Online sends Blakie all it's best wishes for the future.
