Harriers line-up Walsall youngster

A few weeks back the Harriers manager Ian Britton said that he had been looking at bringing another forward to the club.  The player in question was now at a First Division club but he had been in unsuccessful and would keep looking.

Gary Birch It appears now that the player he had in mind was a team mate of Andy Bishop going by the name of Gary Birch.

At the start of the season Birch was expected to make the Walsall first team but that never happened and is now out of favour with Walsall boss Colin Lee.  Harriers showed some interest in him and agreed terms but now Lee has said that he wants to keep Birch at the Bescot until the end of the season as cover for their centre halve's Hay and Carbon.

Birch is six foot tall and can play at both forward and in defence.

Although the current situation has led to this deal breaking down, it seems certain that Birch will be on his way out of the Bescot Stadium before next Season.
