Re: Kidderminster Harriers Independent Supporters Trust

A Public Meeting will be held at 5.30pm on Saturday 1st March 2003 at the Supporters and Social Club, Aggborough, Kidderminster to launch the Supporters Trust for Kidderminster Harriers Football Club.

Alan Shepherd, speaking for the Trust said:
"The launch comes nearly a year after the announcement of the Trust's formation because of a delay caused by disagreements between the original committee.  We felt that the delay was necessary in order to be sure that we got things absolutely right."

This initiative is the work of a group of long standing supporters, with help and guidance from the Government backed Supporters Direct organisation, based at the University of London.

The principal aims of the Trust will be:
  1. To strengthen the bonds between Kidderminster Harriers Football Club and the local community in the Wyre Forest and the surrounding area, and to represent the views of the local community and supporters in the running of the club.

  2. To promote Kidderminster Harriers Football Club in the community and to seek to unify all supporters, local politicians of all parties, the players, the staff and directors of Kidderminster Harriers Football Club for the benefit of the club.

  3. To raise money and donate it to club to be spent in such a way to promote the aims and objectives of Kidderminster Harriers Independent Supporters Trust and to the benefit of the local community and the supporters of Kidderminster Harriers Football Club.

  4. To encourage positive relations between the supporters of Kidderminster Harriers Football Club and the supporters of other clubs.

Once established, the Trust will take the form of an Industrial and Provident Society, regulated by the Registrar of Friendly Societies.  As such it will operate in a totally democratic and transparent manner and will be open to participation by anyone interested in the long-term success of the club.

Presentations on the evening of 1st March will be made by representatives of Supporters Direct, local politicians and representatives of the club.

As many supporters of Kidderminster Harriers FC as possible are urged to attend, and fully participate in what could be a landmark evening for club and supporters alike.

Doors open at 5pm.
