The Harriers have their first Sunday game of the season tomorrow when they travel up to North Manchester and we could be without a trio of important players.

After our win against Orient on Boxing Day 'JJ' Melligans first minute ankle injury has had time to develop and he now looks doubtful for the trip as does Sean Parrish.  He went off after 30 minutes with a suspected hamstring strain.

Dean Bennett has also got a shin injury.  Not surprising after we all saw the way Chris Tate tried to ruin his Christmas.

All the above could mean starts for Ian Foster, Danny Williams and yet another recall for Andy Ducros from Nuneaton.

We shall also be without Drewe Broughton for the next four games as he now starts his suspension.

This will be our first ever league game against Bury.  The only other time we played them was in January 2001 in the 2nd rd of the LDV Trophy when we lost 2-0 (click for more below).
After that game Jan Molby put half the team on the transfer list in an effort to prod them into life.  The main targets were Dean Bennett, Tony Bird and Paul Webb.  Of these only Deano remains at Aggborough.

Neil Mackenzie Some of us did go to Bury last season for their league game against Blackpool after our game at Halifax was a last minute casualty of the weather.  It was a very poor game, all the more surprising after seeing Blackpool playing so well the previous season.  At least it was made more interesting for us seeing Neil Mackenzie playing crap!

Bury came down last season (after seeing them playing Blackpool it was obvious they would soon be joining us) and they struggled to settle in at first but they have now moved up into the play off zone and are doing well.

They were until t'other day when they got hammered 4-1 at Shrewsbury.

Their only injury worry seems to be Lenny Johnrose who is out with a hamstring injury.  That could mean a first team start for either George Clegg or Paul O'Shaughnessy.

Colin Woodthorpe and Liam George could also be drafted into the starting eleven with the Bury manager Andy Preece making changes following the rout at Gay Meadow.
