Rushden & Diamonds
At Aggborough
Saturday
11/1/03 3:00pm
It's been covers on at Aggborough this week in an effort to ensure that this game can go ahead.  After being without a game since the end of last year we don't want yet another one called off.

It's our old friends Rushden this week and although we might be sick of seeing them at least we should get a good game with a score to settle.

They knocked us out of the FA Cup back in November after drawing at Aggie.  Both games we should really have won.

It was in the game at Rushden that Drewe missed a sitter but he won't be available for this game because he's now half way through his suspension.  Scott Stamps will still be out too with his torn adductor muscle but we may have Adie Smith available for us now that his ankle operation has been a success.

There are doubts surrounding the fitness of Sean Parrish (hamstring), JJ Melligan (ankle injury) and Dean Bennett, who has a sore shin but there will be last minute checks on these players tomorrow.

John Hodge We will be able to say hello to our new signing John Hodge but it's hard to say who would make way for him seeing as he can play on both wings.  Will he replace Dean Bennett if he's out or would Sam Shilton be dropped to make way for him?  It would look a bit rough on Sam if he was dropped.

Rushden have just been into the loan market now that they say they can't afford to buy players outright.  They have taken Birmingham City youngster Clint Davies in a bid to strengthen their goalkeeping department due to the injury to Adam Sollitt.  He fractured his wrist against Carlisle during December and could be out until mid February.

Also out will be Gary Mills.  He damaged his ankle against Macclesfield in mid December and is still two weeks away from return.

David Bell has been declared fit after suffering a dead leg in the 1-1 stalemate at Torquay last Saturday.

Rushden have just allowed transfer listed striker Scott Partridge to go on loan to Exeter City for a month and right back Tarkan Mustafa has gone to Doncaster Rovers for a month long loan too.
