Rushden & Diamonds
At
Nene Park
Saturday
17/8/02 3:00pm
After that exciting win at Nene Park towards the end of last season it's a quick return back up the A14 to teach them another lesson.

It was goals from Bo Henriksen and the now departed Richie Appleby that gave us the points in a thrilling game.  I thought that Rushden were a poor side and couldn't match us for fitness or quality, hopefully we still have the fitness levels to overcome them again.  We definitely have the quality.

That will come from Sean Flynn who I think will be as big a influence as Mike Marsh was in our Conference days.  He should be back tomorrow after getting into a fight with his kids Action Man figures.

Also back for us will be Ian Foster who returns after a three match ban picked up last season.  He'll probably start on the bench.

One doubt is the other Sean (Parrish).  He picked up a thigh strain in the 0-0 against Bournemouth but should be ready to play.

Rushden will be without ex Harrier legend Marcus Bignot, he has ligament damage in his knee received in their 3-0 home win against Torquay Utd on Tuesday.  Biggie has signed for them for a month after refusing a new contract at QPR just before the start of the season.  He was reported to be on £4000 per week at Loftus Rd, are Rushden paying that?

Also out for Rushden will be Andy Tillson and Mark Peters but Andy Burgess has finished his two match ban but may still miss the game after missing the end of last season with an injury.
