Another short preview, mainly because there seems to be a lack of info coming from either camp.

Two bad defeats in a row for us now and something must be done about it.  That something HAS GOT to be keep the ball on the bleedin' ground.

What has happened to our passing game?  Saturday was hoof, hoof, hoof from beginning to end.  Dion Scott is probably the main culprit for this but in his defence he has stated that that's the way he plays.

Flynnie.  When you get the ball don't just boot it at an opposing player and hope to pick up the rebound.  Take it round him man, sell him a dummy.  You know you can do it.

Digby.  If you're not happy with your kicking, cos we're not, then throw it to someone.  It is allowed you know.

Adie.  You're up against an ex Premier striker.  One renowned for his split second goals.  Don't back off him and give him room, he'll punish you for it.  Close him down.  Just enough to put him off.

Bish.  Pass the flippin' thing will you.  Just as three opposing players close in on you flick the ball to someone else.  You've just taken three players out of the equation.

Right.  Lesson over.

No injuries that I know of after Saturdays game although Sam Shilton still has a gammy knee.  Scott Stamps and Dean Bennett are out long term still.

Brit will probably go with the same line-up again with the only change possibly Drewe for Bishop.

Southend are a bit like us, blowing hot and cold.  One minute they're beating the best in the land, Chelte...sorry Rushden!! and next they go and lose at Macclesfield.

The Southend fans' opinions about that game seem to be unanimous.  It couldn't get any worse.  Manager Rob Newman is taking most of the stick for it and it appears that he's playing his old mates rather than the new blood that's coming through.

It remains to be seen if he plays stalwart Steve Tilson in preference to upstart Neil Jenkins tomorrow.

The only doubt in the way of injuries is Jay Smith who could miss the game with a groin injury.

Like us they too have had a clearout and Graeme Jones and Phil Whelan will not be offered new contracts with the Essex club in the summer.  The same goes for Barrington Belgrave who is expected to sign for Bristol Rovers this week.
