Harriers lose at Hartlepool

Harriers suffered a nightmare start going a goal down after just four minutes.
The home side had already threatened a minute earlier when Clarke's 25-yard drive was gathered at the second attempt by Brock.

But there was no escape for Harriers when Richardson released midfielder Humphreys who kept his cool to bury a firm low shot into the bottom corner from just inside the area.

Harriers passed the ball around well for 10 minutes without troubling Hartlepool who always looked dangerous when they attacked.
And they grabbed a second goal on 15 minutes when E Williams crossed for midfield general Tinkler to tap home easily from 10 yards.

Hartlepool continued to stream forward with the dangerous Richardson heading over the bar and then racing away down the left on 25 minutes only to be denied by keeper Brock.

The visitors enjoyed perhaps their most dangerous moment on 31 minutes when Parrish's right-wing corner was flicked on by Broughton but Barry-Murphy headed away at the far post.

Brock was forced into a good save a minute later to deny E Williams who was given plenty of time to pick his spot from 15 yards.

Harriers skipper Flynn left the field for a few minutes for treatment on a head injury but did return.
Harriers striker Henriksen collected his sixth booking of the season on 35 minutes for a lunging challenge on Lee.
But Harriers were unlucky on 39 minutes when Broughton hit the post from 12 yards with a good turn and shot after determined work by Bishop.

HT. 2 - 0

Harriers made a great start to the second half with Parrish pulling back a superb goal.

Henriksen fed the midfielder just inside the area on the left-hand side and he produced a tremendous chip over the head of keeper A Williams and into the top right corner.

Parrish's goal for the club spurred Harriers on though Hartlepool went close to making it 3-1 on 52 minutes.
Clarke played a clever pass into E Williams whose shot was well tipped over the bar by Brock.

The home side had their first booking on 54 minutes with Clarke cautioned for fouling D Williams.
Joy was also yellow carded on 64 minutes for a tackle from behind on E Williams close to the half-way line.

Loan signing Bishop missed a great chance to equalise for Harriers on 73 minutes but he shot well wide from six yards after Broughton had headed down Flynn's cross.

Hartlepool brought on Widdrington for fellow midfielder Smith on 76 minutes.
Two minutes later Flynn played a good ball to Broughton in space but the big forward fired over from 25 yards.

D Williams will miss a future game after picking up his fifth booking of the season on 81 minutes for showing dissent after a foul was given against Joy.

The visitors made their first substitution eight minutes from time with Shilton coming on against his former club for Henriksen.

In injury time Hartlepool brought on former Birmingham City defender Bass for Clarke.
