Matty Lewis, seconds out

Matt Lewis became the second player to leave the Aggborough ranks this week when late last nightMatt Lewis the management made the, somewhat, shock announcement that he was to join Hinckley Utd for a fee thought to be in the region of £5000.  This arrangement will also include a sell on clause should Hinckley then sell Matt to Manchester Utd or Liverpool for £15M.

Matt first joined us in July 2001 when Jan Molby took him from Marconi of Coventry.  While playing for the factory side he had scored 52 goals and had attracted many scouts from bigger sides but it was the Harriers who got his signature.

At the time Jan Molby said that one day he would be worth a million pounds but having rarely found first team action he was sent out on loan to many lower league clubs.  It was here that many thought that he had found his true level.

He had originally gone to Hinckley earlier in the season and scored 5 goals in 6 games.

Harriers-Online wish Matt all the best in his future career.
