A chance of a revenge

The Harriers were given the chance of revenge for their FA Cup defeat by West Ham Utd ten years when they were drawn out of the hat together in todays Cup Draw.  There is the minor problem of getting past the Wolves first but I'm still confident that we can do that.

Back in 1994 we played the Hammers in front of a sell out crowd of over 8000 but lost out by a single goal scored by Lee Chapman, better known as being the husband of Lesley Ash, and you all thought it was Neil Morrissey didn't ya!

In a way this years games are still throwing up some spooky moments.  Ten years back we played Woking in an early round of the Cup then we went on to play a major West Midlands side, Birmingham City.  Although we went on to meet Preston in the following round we eventually came up against West ham in the 5th round.

This time it might be reversed and if we do get to meet up with the Hammers and Preston beat Reading and then Swansea we might meet them then.  Or is that just plain daft?

On the offical West Ham website, here, some totally unknown ex-player is confident that they'll be playing the Wolves.  Here's a bit of the article:

Tony Gale is confident West Ham can progress to the fifth round of the FA cup after a draw that pairs them with either Wolves or Kidderminster in the fourth round later this month....."It will probably be Wolves, the odds are on them, but Jan Molby's team will give them a good run for their money in the return as they are a good footballing side.

We played Kidderminster a few years ago; I can remember being injured for that game and watching it from the temporary stand which was shaking on a really cold day.

Wolves will be a difficult tie but one which I think we can win; I don't think there will be a lot of difference between the sides, to be quite honest.

I have seen Wolves four times this season and they are nothing to be afraid of, so if, as expected, Wolves do progress, then it is a game that will be an even money shot."

Thank you Mr Gale.  It's great to know you think we won't beat Wolves.  There's more crap where that came from!

If we do get to have our revenge then the game will be played on 24th/25th of January.  Gale can eat his words then.
