Brit finds short term answer

As expected the Harriers manager, Ian Britton, has come up with a short term answer to our lack of fire power.  He has bought back Andy Bishop from Walsall for a one month loan and also taken on triallist John Williams on a 3 month deal.

The John Williams deal comes as no surprise due to his age, 36, and the fact that he received an ankle injury against Leicester City two weeks ago.  He say's that he has been impressed with the big man during training but it'll be a bit different during a real match where it will be interesting to see if he can last a full 90 minutes.

Bishop could become a full signing if his owners, Walsall, continue bringing new faces in.  Their manager Colin Lee is trying to sign Darius Henderson from Reading to add to his teams firepower.  This will push the Bish even further down the pecking order and Lee may want to cut down his staff numbers a bit.

That could be good news for us.

Andy first came to us last November on a one month loan but ended up staying for the rest of the season.  He scored 5 goals for us last year in 22 games and soon became a crowd favourite even though he's got a funny hairstyle.

John Williams has been around a bit but can also play a bit.  Full list below:

  • Cradley Town
  • Swansea    3 times
  • Coventry
  • Notts Co
  • Stoke
  • Wycombe
  • Hereford
  • Walsall
  • Exeter
  • Cardiff
  • York
  • Darlington

  • So he's got plenty of experience then.

In his career to date he has played 453 games and scored 77 in the process.  Not bad, so if he can continue in that vein he could end up with a more permanent contract.
