Doncaster Rovers
At Belle Vue
Friday
27/2/04 7:45pm
This must be our first Friday night game since the televised one against Blackpool some years ago but this one isn't on the telly.  This is on tomorrow night because of the horse racing which is right on Belle Vues' doorstep.

After Saturdays long overdue win against Swansea we shall have to make sure that we're the first past the winning post in this game.  It won't be easy because Doncaster finally got to the top of the table after months of trying when they beat fellow promo hopefuls Mansfield at Field Mill at the weekend.

JJ Melligan They beat us 2 - 0 at Aggborough back in October and that was the last game that JJ Melligan played for us.  He is now at Donny but his scoring record hasn't been as good as when he was with us, he's only scored twice in 10 games for them while he scored 13 from 38 outings for us.  It hasn't stopped Rovers fans appreciating his talents though and it looks like he shall be signing for them once his contract with Wolves ends in May.

We now have a new creator in Adam Murray and as he starts to blend into the side more we may not miss JJ so much.  It was Murrays vision that led to both goals against Swansea and we'll be hoping for more of the same tomorrow.

Tart As we all know by now Mark Yates has returned to the club after being deemed as not good enough for Cheltenham.  In my view he's not good enough for us either and I for one couldn't give a damn if he never gets a game for us.  I shall not be booing him if he ever does play, I'll just look the other way.

Back to something of more interest and we'll be without Craig Hinton for this game after he picked up his fifth booking recently.  After his excellent job on Trundle he'll be missed but Abdou Sall is expected to step into his shoes.  Expect some scary moments.

The rest of the team, except Jenkins and Willis, seem fit to play although there must still be a question mark against Stuart Brock who played with a broken bone in his foot against Southend and Swansea.  He got through them alright so he'll play against Donny.

Doncasters injury worries will be John Doolan (knee) but he is now back in training and might be back in contention but Simon Marples and Francis Tierney will both miss out.  They have both been long term casualties but are now near to returning to the side, but not for our game.

Donny's leading scorer, Gregg Blundell, will also be playing even though other websites seem to think he's suspended.  His suspension is for their game at Rochdale next Tuesday.

If we come back from Yorkshire with a draw I think everyone will be happy but three points would be nicer.
