Harriers fall to Gloucestershire double

Following our 2 - 1 defeat at Cinderford during the week we collapsed to the same scoreline in the county capital, Gloucester, today.

Again the home side went into a 2 goal lead with goals from Lee Davis and Dan Avery before we managed to get a face saving goal back from the impressive Youssou Diop during a much improved second half.

The Tigers goals both came from mistakes by a nervous Daniel Lewis, in goal for the first time for us.  The first was a clearance that fell kindly at the feet of Davis who had the easy job of tapping the ball home.

The second came from a trait reminiscent of Stuart Brock at his worst.  A corner came over, Lewis flapped at the ball and Avery hooked the ball home from a few yards out.

Molby made some changes for the second half and the mood of the team improved.  Less mistakes were made and team work was more in evidence.

Diops goal was a corker.  Hit from fully 30 yards out and leaving the City keeper rooted to the spot.

More chances fell our way after that with efforts from Hatswell, Higgins, Russell and Appleby but none really looked like finding the net until Jespers 25 yard shot late on in the game.

Wednesday evening sees the biggest test for our rag tag squad so far and unless there are major improvements it's hard to see how we'll manage to get any kind of result against our League 1 visitors Bristol City.

Harriers:
Lewis (Danby), Turner (McHale), Advice, Higgins, Hatswell, Sall, O'Brien (Christiansen), Flynn (Rickards), Diop (Appleby), Russell (Foster), Gleeson.
