The Harriers Spanish winger, Pedro Matias, shocked the fans today when he announced that he was returning home to Spain, citing personal reasons for his decision.  This bad news couldn't have come at a worse time for the club after they find themselves short of three players through suspension and a couple more in doubt for the Boxing Day clash with Swansea City.

Pedro came to the club just over a month ago and scored on his debut at Grimsby.  Although he looked a decent enough player his thoughts did seem at times a bit pre-occupied elsewhere.

It's not known if he will be returning to us in the New Year or what he will do in the future.

The boss, Stuart Watkiss, is looking at the ex Fulham and Barnsley midfielder Steve Hayward and winger Narada Bernard as possible saviours.  Narada has been with us before when he played in a few friendlies prior to the 03-04 season but wasn't given a contract by the then manager Ian Britton.

If signed in time for Boxing day then Narada will play in place of Matias and Hayward will step in in place of Wayne Hatswell, Simon Weaver or Dean Keates, all out for cards.
