Harriers bolster the ranks
Jan Molby bolstered the ranks at Aggborough today when he bought in two loanees. At the same time he shipped out the out of favour Scott Rickards to Redditch Utd for a month.
First one to come in was 19yr old Kelvin Langmead from Preston North End. He's a big striker that was once on loan at, now relegated to the Conference, Carlisle. While there he scored once in eleven starts but impressed the manager there, Paul Simpson, so much he wanted to keep him. PNE responded by giving Langmead a new contract.
A few minutes later and Steve McMahons son Steve McMahon signed for a month for us from Blackpool.
The 20yr old is a tough tackling midfielder not in the mould of suspended Micky Mellon. That being part of the reason why he has been bought in, the other to add a bit of bite to our ineffective midfield.
His father was formerly the manager at Blackpool and since he was sacked his son has failed to appear in the first team. He had previously played nineteen games for them.
Richie Appleby, who was tipped to start his first game against Leyton Orient tomorrow, will probably be on the bench again.
Now definitely, and sadly, on his way out for good is the popular Scott Rickards. He has never really been given a decent run in the side by Jan and is now on loan at Redditch, a club playing at a lower level than the Tamworth team that he came to us from.
Both new faces will play against Orient tomorrow.
