Gary Birch, who was released by Stuart Watkiss at the end of last season, has now found a new home at Sincil Bank, Lincoln.
The tall striker come occasional utility man today signed a one year contract for his new club after failing to impress during his time with us. For a player bought in with such a high reputation in the scoring stakes he didn't knock too many in for us at a time when we needed someone to do just that job.
Three goals in fourteen games was no where near enough and at times he looked overweight and dis-interested.
At the end of the day we can only wish Gary all the best for the future and at least he'll still be playing League football.
Also on the move is a former loanee of ours. Keeper Ryan Clarke, who came in as cover for John Danby while he was injured, has been told by his boss at Bristol Rovers, Ian Atkins, that he has no future at the club and can leave.
The problem is that he has a year to run on his contract and rather than pay it up he has been sent to Forest Green Rovers for a year long loan, at the end of which he becomes a free agent and off the Gasheads books.
In his short spell here he did well for himself and when he returned to Bristol went into their first team straight away. He quickly became a firm favourite with his home fans and looked to be an automatic first choice for next season but Atkins was less impressed and had other ideas.
We'll be meeting Ryan again at some point during the coming season because FGR have now been reprieved following their relegation from the Conference because of the controversy surrounding Northwichs' new ground.
