Yet another pre-season friendly has been called off following the recent cancellation of the games against Sheffield Wednesday and Halesowen.
This time it is the opening friendly at high flying Stourport Swifts on July 9th that has had the chop. The official reason is given that it's because the Swifts new underground heating and slide out/slide in pitch will not be ready in time but sources close to the epicentre of Wyre Forest can reveal that the more likely reason is a lack of communication.
It seems that the Swifts hold an annual 5 a side tourney on that day and the Harriers can't play them because we won't have enough players signed up in time, nor will have by the time the season starts on August 13th.
The club are now thought to be trying to arrange a game against St Johns Tigers kids team to replace the Swifts cliffhanger.
