Laurie Wilson, famous for his understated Gold boots but without the talent to fit into them, has left the club after playing his last game in the 4-1 defeat by Aldershot two weeks ago. Signed from Burton Albion during the close season by Stuart Watkiss he had failed miserably to capture the hearts of many Harriers fans - he's not the only one though.
He made a total of twenty three appearances for the Reds but only ever scored in the pre season friendlies when he scored twice at Bromsgrove Rovers.
Laurie is the son of the former Barnsley and Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Wilson and he played for him for a short time at Hillsborough. Wilson is now manager at Milton Keynes Dons.
It is thought that Wilson has had his contract paid up because he was originally signed until the end of this season.
Although he never won many Harriers fans over, Harriers Online wishes him well in his career and our paths may cross again one day.
