Last Saturday we turned in another good performance against York City but were denied all three points after a bit of dubious refereeing from Ms Rayner, spinster of the parish of Leicester. We now have to build on that precious point and get an equally good result at Boston.
It's going to have to be done on the night though because we won't be allowed home until the game is decided on 90, 120 minutes or even, God forbid, penalties. We'll also be doing it without Taiwo Atieno as well because Walsall are not allowing him to play in case he's needed in the final.
We'll also be without Simon Russell (fractured wrist), Gareth Sheldon (hamstring) and Martin O'Connor (groin surgery). Wayne Hatswell will probably return to the side after missing the York game through suspension and that will then allow Michael Blackwood to return to his normal position out wide.
Hoping to be starting against his former side will be Lee Thompson but I think he'll have to be satisfied with a place on the bench.
Also hoping for another game will be Russ Penn following his promising debut on Saturday when, once he had calmed down after getting booked, he had quite an impressive game that would do his chances of a regular start no harm at all. Hoping to take the place of Tai will be Marc Pugh, he also had a good game on Saturday.
With these newish players earning their stripes it'll be a surprise if Stuart Watkiss takes one last plunge into the loan market before Thursdays deadline. Steve Evans, the boss at Boston, has and he's bought in Francis Green on loan from neighbours Lincoln City but he isn't likely to turn out against us.
Boston have also sent out David Noble to Bristol City on loan and are also hoping that he will be signing for them, for a fee, in the January sales.
They'll need to recoup some money after bringing in some big name players during close season. Players with the pedigree of Julian Joachim and Noel Whelan don't come free and maybe the truth has hit home that there's no pot of gold in lower league football.
Whelan won't be playing tonight anyway because, like O'Connor, he has just had groin surgery and is some time away from playing again.
Finally if we have any need for encouragement tonight then how about this Steve Evans quote:
"Kidderminster is the only match we are thinking about. It will be a big night for them and we must prepare ourselves accordingly if we are to progress."
Big night for us? Pompous git!
