Match preview Vs Carlisle Utd    (LDV Trophy SF North)

Date: 24-01-06 Venue: Brunton Park Kick off: 19:45hrs
The Harriers travel North to the ex Conference side Carlisle Utd tomorrow evening for the fourth episode of our LDV adventure.    Having dismissed Darlington, Boston and Bradford City in the previous rounds this visit to Brunton Park must rate as the hardest so far but then we must expect hard games after having come this far.

Carlisle have seen off Oldham away, Blackpool (home) and Tranmere at Prenton Park so they have deserved their place in the Northern Semi Finals too.    They have also been through the pressure cooker of penalties in two of those games.

For this game they'll be without Michael Bridges due to him having appeared for Bristol City in an earlier round but they have just bought in Mark Rivers after he was released under contract from Crewe.    Midfielder Peter Murphy will be returning from a one match suspension and will go straight back into the full back slot.

They have injury doubts with Derek Holmes and Dave Beharall but both should be fit.

Luckily for us we have no new injury victims following Saturdays home win against Scarborough and the fifth booking that Gareth Sheldon picked up will not come into play until the game at Southport next Saturday.

There should be another run out for the new signing Francino Francis but it might be the last game for Iyseden Christie in a Harriers shirt.    If we win this game then the forthcoming cash will help to pay his salary for the remainder of the season but if we go out then it might well be bye bye Issey if the board have their way.    A sad day when we have to get rid of a damn good player because of a boards incompetence.

This is going to be a tough game for us and we could either win well or get slaughtered by our former bogie team.    Carlisle are a tough cookie wherever they play but at home, with them sat in second place in League Two, it might just be the end of the road for us.

Now get out there and win it!
