Match preview Vs Morecambe

Date: 08-10-05 Venue: Aggborough Kick off: 13:00hrs
It's an early kick off for this game tomorrow and it's not just to get another defeat out of the way as quickly as possible.    The real reason is because our national reprobates are playing a World Cup qualifier against Austria straight after our own game and it will give those fans still eager for more 'football' a chance to see someone as clueless as ourselves.

I really do want to see England beat Austria but I'd much rather see the Harriers beat Morecambe.    I can see that happening but only if we have learnt the lessons from some awful defeats in the past few games.    To that end Stuart Watkiss has had them in for double training all week and going over where we are getting it all wrong.

I hope he's remembered to tell them that football is meant to be played on the ground and not in the clouds.

In yesterdays local press Mr Watkiss was given the dreaded confidence vote by our spineless board and will be hoping that he can delay decision day for a while longer if his side pull their bloody fingers out.

Martin O'Connor is expected to be making his return to the side after being out for a few weeks with a knee problem and Terry Fleming will also be returning to his midfield berth now that he's served a one game ban for getting himself sent off in the defeat at Crawley just over a week ago.    He might learn to keep his thoughts to himself from now on.

Chris McHale is still missing but he must be getting back towards a full recovery by now and at least, when he does return, we might have another option in getting our defence back to being watertight once more.    Last week it was yet again another defensive error that led to the Tamworth goal and that was without the much lambasted Wayne Evans playing.    Ironic eh!

Morecambe went down to a surprise defeat at Forest Green last Saturday too and by all accounts didn't play too well.    The poor pitch took most of the blame from their fans.

The only Morecambe team news that I can find at the moment is that there are no injuries and no suspensions.

It all promises to be an interesting game for us.    Will we come back from some poor recent performances and get Morecambe rocking on their heels with some fantastic football or will it be déja vu and catcalls from the terraces at 2:45pm.
