Aggborough news
Date: 15-01-07 Harriers bag Braintree in FA Trophy
After seeing off Exeter City in round 2 of this years FA Trophy it's onto the next round and in this mornings draw Conference South side Braintree Town came out of the hat with the game being played at Aggborough on February 3rd.    Braintree got past Farnborough Town on Saturday with a 2-0 win at Cherry Tree Road with goals from Louis Riddle and James Hawes.

In the League they sit in eighth place at the moment and, like us, are on a bit of a good run having either drawn or won all their games since November 4th when they lost at home to Hayes.

Nicknamed 'The Iron' they play their games at the Cressing Road Stadium, Braintree, but we'll be hoping to see them off at Aggborough and not having to travel to Essex for a replay.    Their official website is here and their message board is here.

The rest of the draw handed our two other local sides mixed blessings with Worcester City having to travel to either Tamworth or Welling Utd but Redditch Utd getting an extremely tough looking tie at either Oxford Utd or Halifax Town.

The full draw is as follows:

  • AFC Wimbledon v Rushden & Diamonds
  • Grays Athletic v Yeading
  • Kidderminster Harriers v Braintree Town
  • Morecambe v Stevenage Borough
  • Newport County or Histon v Eastbourne Borough or Northwich Victoria
  • Oxford United or Halifax Town v Redditch United
  • Stalybridge Celtic or Kettering Town v Salisbury City
  • Tamworth or Welling United v Worcester City
