The result was not helped by Mark Yates terrible error of playing two un-tried new signings in preference to those that had gone through the friendlies together and he should have had started the game with Cowan and Lee on the bench.
Judging by the comments made on the official website by Yates today it looks like he will be persevering with those two but the more they play together the better chance they have of understanding one another. I'd rather leave them for a few weeks though.
We will have a full squad to choose from tomorrow evening anyway after they all reported back for training today injury free.
Burton got their season off to a brilliant, and un-expected, start on Saturday when they went up to Morecambe and came back with the points after a hand ball in the area that resulted in Adam Webster scoring from the spot.
The Albions' dangerman, Daryl Clare, broke his finger in the game but is expected to play against us as is an even bigger dangerman, Keith Gilroy. It was the speedy winger Gilroy that ripped us apart on both occasions last season and this time he'll want someone on him that can stop his dangerous runs. The name Kenna comes to mind.
Doubtful for them is Darren Stride and definitely out is Chris Hall. Both missed the Morecambe game but Stride could return.
I think it's expecting a bit too much for us to win this game but a point, yes, I'd go for that.
