Match preview Vs Oxford Utd

Date: 10-10-06 Venue: Aggborough Kick off: 19:45hrs
The Harriers will be facing their biggest challenge of the season tomorrow night when we welcome League leaders Oxford Utd back to Aggborough.    It only seems like one season since we last saw them and here was us thinking we'd never have to play them again.

By the look of things it'll only be a fleeting visit as Utd, with their lead at the top building up to mammoth proportions, will be hoping to increase that lead further by the end of the game.

After Saturday's excellent win over Grays we would also be hoping to gain all three points and with the influx of new players, all be it only temporary, there's no reason why we shouldn't.    This need for both sides wanting all the points should lead to either an exciting end to end game or a scoreless stalemate.

Oxford come to us on the back of a 5-1 win at Forest Green on Friday night with an hat trick for the ex Rushden striker Robert Duffy.    He was in and out of the side during his time with them and followed them up with a spell at Cambridge Utd where he followed the same pattern there and only played nine times for them.    He seems to have found his Eden at the Kassam Stadium.

Amazingly the U's manager, Jim Smith, has said he will be having a shuffle of the pack by freshening up the attack for our game.    Yemi Odubade is expected to start the game after spending the last few games on the bench while Steve Basham is facing the drop after failing to score in recent games.

They will be without just a couple of players with Gavin Johnson still a week or two away from full fitness and Marvin Robinson out with a long term knee problem.

We had no real injuries from Saturday so it's just Jeff Kenna, who can't be too far from his return, and Dean Sturridge out long term.    Thankfully his operation seems to have worked and he was jumping up and down in front of the dug outs against Grays.

We will no doubt start with Paul Bignot and Reuben Reid again with the latter hoping to add to his debut goal and Craig Nelthorpe, signed from Doncaster earlier today, probably starting from the bench and coming on for Simon Russell later on.

Finally it'll be a great big welcome back for Billy Turley from the Aggborough faithful.    He's back in front of one of his most appreciative crowds.
