Now Rushden are on hard times with the money men all gone and the fanbase dwindling faster than a small stream in Southern Britain two months ago. They have had to learn to cut their cloth, or shoe leather, to suit their needs now and disposed of a host of 'big name'? stars like Drewe Broughton in the close season.
Wayne Hatswell is still there and tomorrow evening he might be up against the one player at the Harriers that knows him inside out. Yes, Iyseden Christie is back and at last we have someone we know that can get goals.
Doubtful for us is Michael Blackwood after he picked up a knock at Monday's defeat at Woking but he could still make the cut if recovered enough. Dwaine Lee has now gone to Stevenage and hopefully his place will be taken by Jamie McClen who must now, surely, be back to fitness.
For Rushden Greg Pearson has an injured finger and is doubtful along with Andrew Rigby and Michael Rankine also out injured.
There could also be a change between the sticks after some poor performances from Nicky Eyre in gifting the opposition goals this season. Daniel Crane could step in for his first appearance of the season.
I think we've waited long enough now for our first home win of the season and with the Christie back I reckon we'll get one.
