Date: 31-07-07 Walsall friendly ends goal less
In their final home friendly the Harriers failed to score for the first time in this round of pre-season games.    Mark Yates gave Mark Creighton another run out following his recent injury but there was still no sign of Simon Russell in the team.

Newly promoted Walsall included Carlos Caneiro, their latest signing, in their team along with a strong selection of other first team players.    Caneiro was stopped from scoring, twice, on his debut by some astute keeping by Scott Bevan.

James Constable went off with a slight injury after forty minutes to be replaced with Matt Barnes-Homer.

Walsall shaded the first half with other strikes from Martin Butler and Edrissa Sonko but it was still all square and goal less by the time the whistle blew for the break.

During the second period we had our first real attempt on goal when Michael Blackwood stung the hands of Clayton Ince as the veteran keeper pushed the ball away but only straight at Creighton who then fired the ball straight back at Ince for him to gather the ball safely.

The game ended all square and that just leaves one more friendly, at Hinckley on Saturday, before the excitement really starts.

Team:
Bevan (Coleman), Kenna (Harkness), Hurren, Creighton (Munday), Constable (Barnes-Homer), Richards, Penn, Blackwood, Smikle (Boukhalfa), Ferrell (McGrath), Bignot.

Att: 794

Jon Munday agreed to a one year contract with the Harriers following the game.
