Date: 04-08-07 Harriers win with a Kenna goal
Jeff Kenna The Harriers finished off their pre-season campaign with a win today, at Hinckley Utd, and Jeff Kenna scored the only goal of the game.

The travelling Harriers fans got their first glimpse of Iyseden Christie, following injury, James Constable was being rested following the injury he picked up against Walsall during the week but still no sign of Simon Russell.    It looks like we'll be starting the season without Russell and Whitehead with Christie starting from the bench.    As for Constable I'm getting ready for the worst.

At least we seem to have some strength in depth now to make up for the embarrassing debacle at Wembley.

The winning goal came from a free kick played taken by Sir Jeff who then ran on to collect the return from Matt Barnes-Homer and put the ball beyond the reach of the Hinckley keeper.

Our keeper, Bevan, had little to do but he was involved in a mishap later in the game when Ged Murphy came out worst in a challenge for the ball and was stretchered off.

We didn't seem up for this game and can you really blame the players with the new season just a week away.    Roll on Aldershot, let's see some real football.

Team:
Bevan, Kenna, Creighton, Munday, Bignot (Harkness), Blackwood (McGrath), Penn, Smikle (Boukhalfa), Ferrell (Hurren), Richards, Barnes-Homer (Christie)
