Match preview Vs Aldershot Town

Date: 01-03-08 Venue: Recreation Ground Kick off: 15:00hrs
Most of our fans are looking at this game as a possible thrashing for us but the Harriers management think that our silky footballing skills could turn the game our way.  I would say that after the recent displays, from a side again playing for their contracts, that our management are living in Cloud Cuckoo Land.

Like every KHFC fan I want to see us win week in week out but it just ain't going to happen is it?  We have no genuine strike threat anymore, our midfield is a headless chicken and our defenders are one paced and half asleep.

Following that simply awful Setanta Shield defeat on Tuesday evening the squad was kept in for a hour following the game.  A punishment that they seem to get at least once a month lately.

Rather than trying to convince them, and himself, Mark Yates would have been better employed getting on the blower to get some decent loan or non-contract players in.  Just as Rushden did in the morning following the game to bring in another striker, Conal Platt, on loan and our opponents tomorrow did yesterday when they too bought in a striker, Junior Mendes, for the remainder of the season on non-contract.

We should be back to a full strength team for this important game and will probably go with a lone, our only, striker up front.  Alex Jeannin will be back after being cup tied for the Rushden game.

Luke Jones and Matt Bailey will be playing the final game of their loans at Aldershot but Mark Yates is trying to keep then both until the end of the season.  I'd just try and keep Jones because I haven't seen anything from Bailey that would make me want to keep him.

The Shots have just a few injury problems with the main one being John Grant who got injured in the FA Trophy win at Tamworth last Saturday.  He missed their 6-2 Shield win against Crawley and it's thought that he might be rested from the game against us to get him fit for the top of the table clash at Torquay on Monday evening.

They also have Ryan Scott coming back from a broken leg and Ryan Williams is still out with knee ligament damage.  Both players picked up these serious injuries at the end of last season.

We all know that the Harriers do well against the better clubs but that was when we had a decent team.  We're now shot on confidence and I can see nothing better than a hard earned draw.
