Match preview Vs Cambridge Utd

Date: 06-12-07 Venue: Aggborough Kick off: 19:45hrs
The Harriers come up against another tough opponent tomorrow evening when Cambridge Utd arrive at Aggborough for a game that will be broadcast live for the Setanta cameras.  This is our second appearance in as many weeks following the dour draw against Woking that was also shown to the nation.

We go into this game on the back of a FA Cup exit to the hands of Dagenham last Saturday but Cambridge progressed a bit further following their victory over Weymouth and have now picked out a plum in the shape of a tie at Wolves.  We've had our day there and, although we lost due to more dubious refereeing, we hope that the Utd fans will also enjoy their day out there at what is one of the best stadiums in the country.  They could also pull off something of a shock and come back with a draw due to the Wolves inconsistency lately.

For this, more important game, we'll be without James Constable after his sending off appeal was finally turned down on Friday and also Jeff Kenna.  He was thought to have recovered from the hernia operation but has now had a minor setback and will not play as a precaution.

Cambridge are doing better than anyone expected at the start of the season.  They had come through another close season of turmoil with their ongoing money troubles and only had a couple of players left following the last game of the season.

The manager, Jimmy Quinn, has worked wonders there and bolstered his side with players that were generally unknown but seem to have clicked as a unit.  On the otherhand we have seen new players bought in to strengthen our side and it just has not worked out.

They'll be without Danny Brown for the game with a long term injury and recently bought in defender Paul Carden from Accrington on loan to cover for his absence.

I'm expecting this to be a better game than the televised Woking game but can't really see us getting one over Cambridge.  I think they'll be too strong for us and with our poor form in front of goal I can't see us getting much out of it.

I would love to be proved wrong.
